SOUTH MOUNTAIN
Along the road at the foot of South Mountain,
cars are parked everywhere.
While we are climbing,
the sunlight is fine.
There are some other people like us,
wearing face masks,
talking and laughing.
In the city, meeting up is forbidden.
So we sneak off,
two or three at a time,
to the slopes of South Mountain
to get outside and feel the wind.
At the top is the cemetery,
full of dead people.
