MOANING

some people raise their heads to sing
God receives each one of their songs
some people sigh and look up to the sky
but God has gone to take a nap
what happened when I was moaning against the heavens:
wind rose
wind stuffed what I had said
every mouthful
back into my trap

manche heben den kopf und singen zum himmel
gott nimmt alles auf jeden einzelnen ton
manche seufzen hinauf
gott ist gerade beim mittagsschlaf
als ich geraunzt hab gegen den alten wars komisch
wind ist gekommen
hat was ich gesagt hab
ein wort nach dem andern
zurückgestopft in meinen mund
