MOM DRYING PEANUTS

in junior high
I went to her place
her mom drying peanuts out in the sun
turning them over
telling us
don’t eat the peanuts
they’re for your big brother’s wedding
she graduated from college
her mom was still drying peanuts
she married
her mom drying peanuts
for her big brother’s wedding
now her own son is already married
her mom is still drying peanuts
