so (children’s day)
it is children’s day today
so i’m very very tired
as i’ve been for many years
so i don’t appear so often
so i’m very very late
so i’m here like anyone
so we’re doing what we can
so i’ll have another birthday
so we’ve china to remember
so we’ve 1989
so we’re doing what we can

Just been to the F1 racing site on Facebook. Very interesting discussion there. I’m not sure that boycotting Bahrain is going to help people in Bahrain. I wonder what @JustAmira has to say about this. That’s what Twitter is all about, paying attention to Iran and stuff. What about China? Was there enough protest in 2008, against the civil rights situation in China, before the Olympics? I don’t know. There were violent protests, and things got worse, at least for Tibetans, right? Same thing one year later with the violent unrest in Urumqi. On the other hand, it could have helped if the international Olympics organizers would have put pressure on China. Instead they were practically encouraged to go ahead with the crackdown against Charter 08, which led to the wonderful situation in China right now. Oh well. One more thing: Knee-jerk Anti-Communism is understandable, just like Communism and Socialism. Very understandable. And at least as blind, or not. I think it would help to speak of civil rights instead of human rights. Elfriede Jelinek does that, for example. There’s nothing wrong with human or animal or natural rights of any planet or bug. But if you lecture people on Human Rights, it sounds like you’re holier than thou. And if you point out a civil rights situation, you somehow imply that the same thing happened and happens everywhere, that is grievous rights violations. Shoot first and deflect questions later. Happens in every society. So yes, go on with the pressure. And the attention. Definitely. So.
