APPLAUSE

At the conference for outstanding personnel
he doesn’t applaud.
At the meeting for model workers
he doesn’t applaud.
At the representatives‘ gathering
he doesn’t applaud.
At the general assembly
he doesn’t applaud.

Not that he doesn’t want to,
but it is rather hard.
He didn’t raise an iron fist
in the Cultural Revolution,
so Red Guards cut off his hand.
