INSTEAD OF… WHY NOT… ?

I used to think
instead of getting to know
magazine editors,
why not write a few poems more,
maybe get famous forever.

Today I still
don’t have time for the editor.
The rest is my liquor store:
Why not sell a few crates more,
get to live here and now.

以前我觉得
与其花时间去结交
文学刊物的编辑
我还不如多写几首诗
说不定就流芳百世了

现在我还是
不花时间去结交
说辞却变成了
我还不如多卖几箱酒
这样就活下来了
