BELLS OF NAGOYA

Night of continuous rain.
Rain digging a well
in winter quite a few years ago.
Many years after,
temple bells of Nagoya in whirling snow
dig up the rain in my ears from the well
from that winter.

Then cherry trees bloom.
Then far away in China
fallen leaves wake up in front of a temple.
