《女儿说》

女儿說
小時候以為
太陽被白雲
關進監獄，
如果太阳够强大
可以突围。
黑云的时候
太阳很難过。
下雨
太阳在哭。
太陽是陰性，
女儿用德语。
除了这点，
中文
也说差不多。

DAUGHTER SAYS

My daughter says
“When I was small
I thought white clouds
threw the sun into prison.
If the sun was strong enough
it could break out.
If clouds were black
the sun was sad.
Rain
meant she was weeping.”
The sun is female
in German;
my daughter didn’t realize
this point,
but she knows in English
it’s “he”
and in Chinese “ta” 他.
“Ta” 她 can be many things
ta 她 ta 它 ta 牠 – he she it
and so on.
