springs has it been?
He walks out
through the iron gate of the temporary compound,
the janitor’s house behind him,
so many eyes stretching outside.
He has a bellyfull of words
that he wants to dump now
but he only says to Officer Yang,
I have served out my time.
He straightens his back,
as if compared to Officer Yang,
they let him go early.
