SO THIS IS TIME

So this is time.
Seems I have done only three things.
Finished my studies, brought up my children, made myself old.
When I was young, I thought of traveling round the world.
Today, I haven’t even seen
much of my province.

I’ve paid a price, a simple price.
Salt in sweat, bitter taste in tears.
Also flowers in smiles.
I and my years, we consumed each other,
records are clear to see.

Three things
haven’t changed very much.
Loving poetry, attachment to family.
And also truth, speaking of truth.
Deep in your soul, hard to keep still.
