ONE

One month ago, a little more, less than two
the world went quiet.
It had become quiet in China before
accompanied by all sorts of noise.
But when it arrived
it was precious.
There is strife here too,
who caused it to spread,
who didn’t close
ski entertainment.
But on the whole
Austria
or any place actually
became like never before,
except in or after the war,
and that was very different,
not that I was around.
But no Nazis, for one.
Yeah, maybe right after the war,
they were also in hiding.
Anyway, in times of peace,
only one headline:
Look Out For Youse,
something like that,
look out for yourself and each other,
but in one word.
Schaut auf Euch.
And we were lucky.
