Du Xiaowang
RELEASED
A book manuscript of 360,000 characters
is relased with him,
he has served out his sentence.
He runs into many friends from before,
a wall forms around him.
Strangely,
the people who envy him
are windows with bars.
On the street people walk in a hurry,
in their looks they carry a prison.

Maxi
PERFECT LIFE
my hair
is naturally curled
many friends, especially
women
tell me they’re jealous
when I have a daughter
she should have my hair
no need for a perm
to be already perfect
actually, you don’t know how I feel
ever since I was small
my younger sister
the one thing that made her edgy and worried
was her curly hair
to pursue her perfect style
she pulled them straight
every day
every single one
