MOTHER
Yesterday on the phone
I wished her the best for mother’s day.
She’s in Austria, I am in China.
We used WeChat.
My son has it,
not even a week now.
It’s six hours earlier there.
Yesterday my wife and our kids
had lunch with my parents.
On mother’s day
they’ll be with my sister.
So it had to be yesterday.
I heard her voice for the first time
since the middle of April.
She sounded healthy and hale
in body and mind.
This year she’ll be 82.
She can drive.
Her health is better than my father’s.
My father’s not bad.
He is 84.
After a stroke he doesn’t drive.
He walks with a cane.
When I was small I had mom & her mom
and my father’s mom.
Now I have my mother.
It’s good to have WeChat.
I have always thought,
whatever works,
they are all good.

PLATFORM
The platform under heaven
isn’t easy to find.
Up is the sky
down is the platform.
Under the railway,
then take a sharp left,
under the railway again.
You can go by car,
all the way up.

hike to the platform.

you can do Yoga,
singing, dancing,
lie down together
under the stars.

you can climb further

In the morning
the sheep wake up slowly.
Maybe they are goats,
they don’t have much fur.
They sleep together
close to the wall.
There is some straw.
A little one is hungry.
It has grown up,
but still wants to suck,
it pushes its mother down there.
It doesn’t work.
The mother walks off.
Most of the small ones aren’t up.
A big one takes a big one,
right in the middle of the whole place,
rather like a big dog.
The birds have been busy
flitting and calling
for hours already.
It’s six o’clock,
not that any goat cares.
Another train is coming.
The curves of the mountain
are beautiful curves
in the morning light.

月亮在吐舌头，这是这首小诗发现的事实的诗意，感觉真好。为什么要吐舌头？吐舌头在这里有着一种调皮、可爱，也可以是反讽、甚至反抗的意味，它让我们从正儿八经的现实重新审视生活、生存，给人一种新的启示。对于一个七岁的孩子，能写出让成人都欣赏的诗，这的确是本事，更大的本事是，成人不仅仅会欣赏，还会惊讶，还有思考，这就更好了。就我本人而言，我想起了爱因斯坦古稀之年吐舌头的画面，那幅照片也成为20世纪具有影响力的一张形象符号。

况禹点评《新诗典》游连斌《放下》：此诗堪列作者写过的滋味最丰富的作品。1、白天在波浪中捕鱼的人们，晚上放下了渔网在广场上休闲；2、按佛教戒律，至少属于“准杀生者”的渔民，在佛乐中放下“杀心”，翩翩起舞；3、作为现代市井产物的广场舞，与作为传统文化遗存的“大悲咒”，竟然相融无间。后者乍一看扎眼，其实符合生活的大逻辑。记得十几年前，接触齐豫唱的一张佛乐唱片，起初惊奇，听后感叹艺术、天赋与精神确实有种能水乳交融的内在关系。本诗也很自然地触及到了这一层。

I have no idea
and so I stretch my hand to the sky
to grasp a white cloud
just like Sun Wukong on TV
with a few somersaults I’m on the moon
at the time of my successful landing
I’m even receiving a telegram
with President Xi’s congratulations

ich habe ja doch keine wahl
also streck ich die hand in den himmel
pflück mir eine weiße wolke
mach es wie Sun Wukong im TV
ein paar purzelbäume dann bin ich am mond
im augenblick meiner erfolgreichen landung

just a bit of relaxing
just a bit of the sun
gleaming on every spire
just a bit of the world
settling down for the evening
and the birds sing for springtime
just like they did when I was a kid
although everything’s new
all the shiny new buildings
in this new part of town
though we’re close to the center
you can see every ridge
it’s a beautiful city
beethoven walked here,
and schubert and brahms
and vivaldi was buried
unmarked, just like mozart
it’s a beautiful evening
of a beautiful sunday
they had eu elections
there is hope for the future
this city is fortunate
this city was worse
the worst on the planet
they voted for hitler
and killed all the jews
and then it was bombed
and then our parents
came here and we grew
and moved elsewhere and now
we are here in this building
in this town on this world.
the city is growing
it is still rather small
it was big and growing
in 1914
now we have the eu
there is privatization and deprivation
all over the continent
still it is springtime
let us build something new.
