WILDE BLÜTEN
Ich bring meinen Bub in die Schule
und diese wilde Blütenstaude
springt in meine Sicht.
Rote Zwetschkenknospen,
voll aufgeblüht,
grünes Blatt, gelber Stempel irrsinnig schön.
Diese Staude hat es nicht leicht,
auf einem kleinen unbeachteten Fleck
an einem Parkplatz.
Dürres Laub und Müll, den die Leute hinwerfen.
Sie war von einem Eisenzaun abgedrückt,
bis auf den Boden.
Ich wollte ihr helfen und habs nicht geschafft.
Heute schaut sie
ganz anders aus!
Sie hat sich aufgerichtet,
der Zaun ist nicht mehr zu sehen.
Sie ist erschütternd schön.
Ich muss sie fotografieren.
Ich sag mir: Egal in welcher Situation,
wir wollen nur blühen.

JOURNEY
The plane is half asleep, towards dusk in the west.
I carry dark Yunnan in my heart.
You cannot check in that kind of luggage.
Cannot extricate it.
Lonely highlands. Deep lakes. Clouds just stand there.
Exhausted eucalyptus trees, at sunset in the middle of Wu Cheng’en street.
You spread out your sparkling emperor’s banquet. Gaudy old buildings.
My grandmother’s rattan chair is in the chief’s position at the window upstairs.
A witch in a green headscarf, standing down there.
After everyone’s gone, she jumps into the moon on the canal.
Ah, endless skies! Weightless journey.
Please let me sleep this time! Stars are rising over my home.

I ask her why,
she says there’s no meaning,
can’t change anything.
I don’t know
what she had wanted to change.
I never thought about
changing things through poetry.

SMALL ELEPHANT
This little sculpture
is from the people who used to live here.
About one hundred pounds,
feels rather alive.
Black eyes full of spirit,
a concentrated stare.
His trunk has been broken,
I fixed it with tape.
One tusk is gone
without a trace.
His front leg stands
on a tall stone,
so his figure rears up,
his attention is on the kitchen.
If he could open his mouth,
I would be sure to bring offerings.

磨铁诗歌奖·2023年度最佳诗歌100首｜简天平《寒山寺》入选理由：这首诗看起来没有明显的诗意点，但这种不明确，与简洁、轻盈、自然的语言相结合，共同营造了一种浑然天成的诗意。这种诗意更多的是一种禅意，是属于现代生活的禅意。一个现代人去寺庙烧香拜佛，能获得什么？或许什么都得不到。烧完香拜完佛，回到世俗生活中，就跟佛没有任何干系了。诗人在寺庙门口睡醒后，感觉恍如隔世，手里还牢牢握着手机和充电宝，这似乎揭示了现代人跟这个世界最本质的关系和连接。（磨铁读诗会 / 方妙红）

back and forth on the river.
At dusk
they climb on the shore
to walk back home.
My mother sees
one duck is missing,
goes to the neighbor to get it back.
She finds the duck
with a cut in its foot.
Our ducks
all have that hole
in their right feet,
so we know they are ours.
My mother did it with scissors.
My mom and I
talk about this today,
suddenly

Are there any nerves
in their feet?

DIE PLATANEN ENTLANG DER SUN-YATSEN-STRASSE
An beiden Seiten der Strasse
sind Platanen gepflanzt.
Als ich klein war,
sind Drachentänzer zum Laternenfest
und verurteilte Todeskandidaten im offenen Lastwagen
durch diese Straße gekommen.
Nachher hat niemand mehr Drachen getanzt.
Und vor der Hinrichtung wird man nicht mehr vorgeführt.
Die Platanen sind noch da,
alle paar Jahre
schneiden sie ihnen
im Winter den Kopf ab.
Voriges Jahr im Dezember
waren sie grad wieder dran gewesen.
Heute fahr ich dort entlang,
die Platanen sind nur noch Stangen,
stehen stramm im kalten Frühlingswind.
Hinter ihnen die Häuser an der Straße,
manche sind abgerissen,
manche warten darauf.

PASSING THROUGH THE NORTH GATE WITH A MOUTH FULL OF VINEGAR
Got off the bus,
into the supermarket,
didn’t know what to buy,
bought a bottle of cheap vinegar.
Paid,
opened the bottle,
drank a sip,
wanting to swallow.
Then I remembered,
holding white vinegar in your mouth
can clean up the gums
and stains on the teeth.
So with that sip
in my mouth,
I walked back home
through the north gate of our compound.

Finally!
The people have won.
Decency has won.
Democracy has won.
Hope.
Some people
may feel they have lost.
In the end, the land,
the country, the world
if the world can win,
most people will feel,

for once,

IN DIE FERNE
Ich gehe weg,
ich fahr in die Ferne.
Die Ferne, das ist eigentlich Kanton.
Von Kunming aus,
diese 1329 Kilometer,
Hochgeschwindigkeitszug, statt zu Fuß.
Zehn Jahre war ich in Kunming,
einiges wird mir sicher fehlen,
aber ich weiß auch nicht was.

you might as well give up the ghost

you won’t recognize a road or a house
or a street is gone that you knew very well
a decade ago or maybe a week.
sometimes the wind clears up the smog
and you can see the sky, or even the hills
and the ranges farther afield with the walls.
there are no wars. this land is peaceful.
the army is the largest by far. there are no tanks.
a tank was burnt and some soldiers were killed.
imagine there’s no heavenly peace
and no rulers above us.
there is only sky and a kite and the doves.
